The Great Passion Play Basic Gardening Manual by Ethan Noblett
Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people."
I love gardening because I get to Glorify God through making this creation shine.
WEEDING: Pull weeds that are 3-4 inches tall or inside flowers/plants. Pull all weeds that are 4 inches outside the diameter of a flower/plant. Other weeds can be sprayed with weedkiller.
WEEDKILLER: Mix 1.oz of Diquat per gallon of water. (i.e. 4 gallons = 4.oz) This makes a very strong batch of weed killer. Put a small splash of surfactant (small bottle) in with diquat.
Surfactant helps stick the weedkiller to the weeds. wear gloves and eye protection when mixing weed killer, and always mix below eye level. DO NOT SPRAY WEED KILLER WITHIN 4 INCHES OF
PLANTS/FLOWERS YOU DON'T WANT TO KILL. High risk of causing weed killer drift and spotting on flowers, never spray weed killer when it's windy. (Diquat burns leaves and foliage)
WATERING: Don't water plants if it rains that day. water annuals everyday in the morning. Watering when it's too hot in the day can burn the plant.
FERTILIZER: Fertilize Annuals once a week. Only apply Fertilizer in the morning, saturate the roots of plants. you can't over fertilize a plant. Mix one heaping tablespoon of 20-20-20 fertilizer
per gallon of water.
ANNUAL BEDS: Front entrance, Buffet parking, Eastern gate monument, Disabled parking, Cross fountain, inside play entrance, Right of Snack shop/play exits, Church in the grove,
Christ of the Ozarks restroom, Christ of the Ozarks area.
BASIC ROUTINE:
Apply Fertilizer to annual beds on Monday, or the first day you work that week. While you fertilize look at annual beds and see which ones need the most weeding.
Make a list accordingly and pull those weeds that week.
Tuesday-Saturday water annuals in the morning then pull weeds in beds that need it. If this is done every day, it will keep the gardens looking great for the summer.
Every two weeks spray weedkiller on every row of the amphitheater.
Deer repellant should be made out of peppermint oil, garlic, and egg bits.
SEASONAL PLANTING: DO NOT PLANT FLOWERS IN ROWS! Plant flowers in groups of 3s, 5s, 7s, OR 9s. leave around 6 inches of space between plants or according to the plant you are planting
