The Great Passion Play has a great ongoing need of purchasing supplies for our mission trip program. We have several upcoming projects that are not funded. Will you help us?
Ongoing Passion Play Expenses that we need your help!
1. Jesus Blood - We use a stage blood called Ben Nye Stage Blood. We go through around 10 bottles a year. Each bottle with shipping costs calculated into it costs $51.15 a piece. So, in total, we use approximately $511.50 of stage blood a year.
2. Stripes on Jesus' Back. We use 3 bottles of Collodion a year (very similar to liquid bandage to accomplish a scarring effect). Each bottle costs $99. In total, we use about $300 of collodion for Jesus' Back
3. Haze Fluid. In order to create spectacular mid-air lighting effects, haze fluid is imperative in modern theater. $1,247.39. Each gallon costs around $45 and last year we used around 28 gallons.
4. Low Lying Fog Fluid and Regular Fog Fluid--Each year, we use about $200 of fog fluid, low lying flog fluid, and distilled water.
5. Pyrotechnics--For the angel appearance effect, at the Resurrection, when Jesus says "I am" in the Garden, and in other parts of the Play, we use around $40 of pyrotechnics for every performance.
6. Palm Branches
7. Weedeater String and Mower Blades
8. Rope
9. Water filters and ice filters
10. Gas/Diesel Budget for the Holy Land Tour

Mission Trip Projects Summer/Fall 2024
Here is a list of current needs and projects that our mission trip program is scheduled to complete in Summer/Fall 2024:
1. Semi-Truck load of red mulch ($1,800). Each load lasts us about 1-2 years with our mission trip program
2. Railroad Ties for Statue Lighting Landscape Project (1 load of 144 railroad ties are needed for the first couple)--$2,880 is the need
3. We are in need of two full-sized upright refrigerators for our intern areas. New is preferable since we want them to last for a very long time!
TOTAL of Landscape Lighting Project - $9,494.94
4. Landscape Lighting Wire all the way from the front entrance to the Statue (5,170 ft needed--21 spools of 250 foot landscape 12/2 wire--$2,808.54 with connectors)
5. Actual Low Voltage Landscape Lights needed--Project budget is not finalized, but we anticipate around $4,376.40 to put 20 lights ($10.42 a piece) every 250 ft. Total number of low voltage spotlights needed will be 420 lights to complete the project. See pictures below of the difference that this type of lighting can make.
6. Twenty-one 300-watt transformers needed--$2,310
7. If we do railroad ties around the big field areas, it will take approximately 166 railroad ties at a cost of $3,320
8. Any donations to our flower and beautification budget is greatly appreciated!
9. Australian Timber Oil: To keep wood stained and looking fresh, all of the wood on the property is stained with Honey Teak Australian Timber Oil. It is rather expensive stain, but it is a one-coat per year application and mission trip groups are able to make things look very nice rather quickly. $55.98 per gallon cost or $236.98 for a five-gallon container. On average, we use about 20-25 gallons on an annual analysis.
10. Grip additive to prevent tripping and slips and falls--About $10 per gallon is the cost. We use about 15-20 each year for areas that are stained or painted on the floor.
11. Vinyl Floor Planking: We have dorm and intern spaces that together sleep around 50 people. We have converted another area on the property to sleep 10-more people. We have about $630 of flooring needed to complete this area.

2024 and 2025 Soundtrack Project: $310,000 (FUNDED--Donate to help us cover any unbudgeted expenses)
Advice: Listen on headphones or a large sound system with subwoofer for the full impact. Below is a sample of the new prelude to the Passion Play.

Projection Mapping and Digital Projections - 2026 and Beyond
Looks like these below at Universal Studios and Disney World at Animal Kingdom and Star Wars are only achievable through the use of advanced projection technology and digital mapping.
At each of these venues, the digital mapping allows scenes to play out on the sets in the case of the castle above. The Galaxy’s Edge set remains static but creates a captivating immersive experience that is simply unforgettable. Because of the sheer footprint of the sets, the throw distance and the ambient lighting conditions, the projectors that Disney and Universal uses are Christie Crimsons at a cost of $150,000 each with $25,000 lenses. The cost is immense with over 10 projectors needed for Disney and Universal. Because we have shorter throw distances and control of all the lighting, we can achieve the same effects with fewer projects that cost less. See an example of what digital mapping and projections can do below.
With five Epson LCD Large Venue Laser Projectors with 4K enhancements, we can create amazing lightning effects and surreal set glow effects to bridge the space between set and spectacular theater. Each projector costs $25,000 with a $3,500 lens. A total of 5 are needed to achieve the same spectacular effects as what you see above. Additionally, we will need a media server to house the videos, access design templates, and digitally map the set. The cost of the Hippotizer Tierra+ MK2 is around $20,000. To control and synchronize these effects, we would also need to upgrade our Grand-MA 3 lighting console to the flagship version. This full-size control room version allows us to seamlessly unite all performing systems without the risk of catastrophic failure.
Project Cost Breakdown
For a production length and scope of this size, production elements can be done for $15,000.
Dropdown Screens at the Temple
Adding dropdown screens is not currently a part of this project budget, but we are looking at it.
