How To Start

  1. Open iPad
  2. Confirm internet connection (click settings and select Wi-Fi network if it is not already connected)
  3. Click Shopify POS
  4. Enter the 4-digit number located on the iPad, scanner, and chip reader
  5. Click "More" Tab
  6. Click "Register" 
  7. Click "Start Tracking session"
  8. Use Counting tool or confirm amount counted (add a note if any discrepancy found)
  9. Click "Connectivity" to confirm chip card and scanner are "in session"
  10. Click "Home"
  11. Begin Sales

Confirm that chip and tap reader is working by trying to make a sale. If it does not connect, go to "Settings" of the iPad. 
Click "Forget" Reader.
Add the Chip and Tap reader back from the Shopify POS app.

To Make a Sale

  1. Scan items or search with bar code scanner
  2. Click Checkout
  3. Insert Card in Card Reader or Take Cash

Closing Your Register/End of Day

  1. Click "More"
  2. Click "Register"
  3. Click "View Open Session"
  4. Click "End Tracking Session"
  5. Confirm Cash in Drawer (This is your TOTAL Cash)
  6. Click "Next"
  7. "Cash Summary" Screen--Write Cash on screen to match actually expected. Explain any discrepancy if there are any (hopefully there are not!).
  8. Click "Next"
  9. Select Amount to Leave in Drawer Screen--Write how much cash you started with in your register (do not actually leave in drawer, this just makes the report work properly on the back end) 
  10. Click "Next"
  11. Click "Done"
  12. VERY IMPORTANT - Write your credit card amount by clicking "Payment Types" - and Only record "SHOPIFY PAYMENTS" for your credit card sales
  13. Turn iPad SCREEN off, but do NOT power Off the iPad.
