​The  “Life of Christ” painting, came from what some would consider a personal tragedy. In 1960 Jackson had just recovered from a heart attack when a stroke came and left him paralyzed. While in the hospital he made a commitment that if the Lord would allow him to get up out of that bed he would paint, in thanksgiving for his survival and recovery, his personal memorial to Jesus.
The “Life of Christ” painting is 11 feet tall and 1000 feet long, longer than three football fields, and longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall. The painting will stretch the entire length of the largest aircraft carrier in the United States Navy, The USS Nimitz.
