Jesus stands before an endless corridor with the cup and the bread, that are signs of His sacrifice for us. Can you find the cross in this painting?
When Jesus was 33 years old He had been in ministry only three years, but it was time for Him to finish the work God sent Him to do. He had never sinned, but He was about to die for every sin of every man, woman and child so we could once again be in God’s presence. He tried to help His disciples be ready for what was going to happen next. He’d been telling them about it during His ministry, and He talked about it during The Last Supper with them before He was crucified. He told them His blood would be shed and His body would be broken. He broke bread and drank “the fruit of the vine” with them, and told them to remember what He did for them after He was gone. He wants us also to remember His broken body and shed blood for us until He comes back, so He asks us to keep the Lord’s Supper when we worship together as the Church. We should never forget the price Jesus paid so we can have the freedom to praise and serve Him.
Today's PrayerLord, each time we have the Lord’s Supper, I promise to take time to think about what I need to admit to You as sin and change. Thank You that You are always faithful to forgive me and make me clean. Please help me always remember that You gave Your life so my sins could be forgiven.
Today's Activity:Have the children draw a picture of the last communion they attended at church and how it was done. Talk with them about what communion means to each of them. Perhaps schedule a time to talk to your pastor about why we observe communion.

The shadow of the cross in front of Jesus is a shadow of what is about to happen and a reminder of what He has done for us.
